Paricutin Volcano, Mexico

Paricutin is a notorious volcano in the province of Michoacan in Mexico, as well as the name of a small village nearby that was largely destroyed in the volcano’s first eruption.
Said to be the only volcano to have witnesses at its birth, it has made its place among the natural wonders of world and is a premier destination for nature lovers. The best way to experience Paricutin is by taking hikes through the sandy banks and lava fields that surround the volcano.
The 12 mile roundtrip journey can be taken as an adventurous hike or can be made easier by riding horses.

Besides the variety of flora and fauna the thing that makes it stand out is five large living giant sequoia trees in the world.
The area offers hiking, horseback riding, fishing and cave tours to its approximately 1 million visitors every year.

The Northern Lights or The Aurora Borealis is best seen at northern latitudes.They are awe-inspiring twirls of light in the sky, caused by “solar wind” – electrically charged particles interacting with Earth’s magnetic field. The lights fluctuate in size, shape and color, with green being the most common color close to the horizon while purples and reds appear higher.

It’s a real treat to watch this unique event.
